Illness As A Conflict Between Body And Mind

Illness as a conflict between body and mind

The body speaks and expresses itself through symptoms.  An illness, pain, wounds, discomfort, are symptoms that something negative is happening inside the body. Often these symptoms are a warning that this negativity has to do with our emotional world.

There are different therapeutic techniques that address this topic. One of them is Freud’s psychoanalysis and his theory of repression which seemed to be out of date but is still widely used alongside third-generation therapies. The mindfulness , yoga, cell renewal medicine, physics and brain biochemistry and quantum physics, although they have different points of view, agree that the body and mind are directly related, and the influence of one over the other is very powerful.

The alerts of our body

The body alerts us that something is not right when we feel pain, fatigue, or an illness. Our mind may be interpreting a situation related to our emotions. We need to stop and reflect on what is happening, how we are feeling and how much it affects us.

The first option is always traditional medicine and we can help ourselves by using the power of our mind to maximize the effects of the treatment. Exploiting the full power of our minds requires time, consent and patience.

the power of thoughts

The mind equals everything we think. Every thought that passes through it influences our life, body and reality. The thoughts that most influence our environment are those that we pay attention to and feed with our words, behaviors and reactions.

If thoughts affect our reality and our body, does thinking positively help to solve problems, illnesses and needs? No, thinking positively is not enough, because we think in a way that we believe is good for us. And it’s not always like that.

To change this way of thinking and interpreting what we perceive, it is necessary to go further: to deeply analyze our emotions, develop emotional intelligence and self-knowledge.

Illness as an interpretation of reality

An illness can be a reflection that our mind is doing something we don’t want. To change this, we need to look at what kind of programming our mind is, how it learned to act that way, and how we behave. Our learning within the family is the source of our emotional management.

Some bodily ailments are sown and cultivated in our emotional world. Some of our pain is the result of experiences that were not understood, that hurt us and caused us suffering, dissatisfaction or anger. These experiences are stored within us and are reflected in our body.

We can say that some bodily symptoms or illnesses have to do with a certain degree of unhappiness or dissatisfaction, resulting from attachment, over-control, anger denied or not understood, etc. Deep down, every illness is something we try to hide. If a disillusionment hurts your heart, the body reflects in the same way. The body is a reflection of the way we think and feel about life.

Emotions and Diseases

Published research demonstrates, from a psychological, physiological and social perspective, how emotions and behavior play an important role in people’s well-being and in the manifestation of illnesses.

Currently, there is a greater knowledge of the factors or variables that are allied to our health. And we also know how to better handle the pressure, competitiveness and demands we face in our daily lives. The management of emotions becomes a kind of filter that determines the health and, as a consequence, of people’s illnesses.

Louise L. Hay has devoted much of her life to teaching people that thoughts can change their lives. He has written many books that have helped many people discover their own value and believe that children can learn the power of their thoughts from an early age. That way your path through life can be happier and more fulfilling.

We invite you to reflect on the power of affirmations, understood as thoughts and words that we use daily. If we can identify them, transform these negative thoughts into positive thoughts and actions and internalize them, we will change the way we feel and live.

Everything we live has a meaning; the greatest learning of an experience is in learning. Learning to know ourselves better and accepting ourselves as we really are, having a good relationship with ourselves and with others. Learning to love yourself, but to love you need to be patient and trusting, be more compassionate, stop criticizing and demanding too much, enjoy what you have and get excited about everything. Nature has put everything in our power to make us happy.

If we learn to manage our emotions, the body will minimize sending out worrying signals. Excessive tiredness and constant colds can be symptoms that we are compromising our immune system, mismanaging our emotions. On the other hand, when we are happy and peaceful, in a state of growth and fullness, we secrete hormones that benefit our health.
